After a week of cooking and touring fun at the Palazzo in Carunchio, our summer exchange student, Claire Thompson, moved in with the Carunchio mayor and his family. Claire reported that she especially loved learning from Chef Dino and hanging out with the locals at a coffee shop. She is working on her Italian and will next be going to stay with the local truffle hunter’s family. She’ll learn how the dogs are trained to sniff out the truffles and will go on a truffle hunt. We can hardly wait for her return so we can hear all about her adventures. Here’s the proof that she can make a pizza from scratch and even stretch the dough on her knuckles!
